This fall has been a time of change for the Panther Women.  The team has transitioned from a Division III to a Varsity Club program.  At the same time Coach Bridget Jacobson has taken over the helm as the Director of Crew and Head Women’s Coach.  With the new coach and new status the crew is ready to begin a new chapter in Chapman Rowing history.

The team’s first official practice was on November 1st and the team raced their first race last Saturday at the Long Beach Fall Collegiate Invitational. When asked about the race Coach Bridget Jacobson said, “The team showed a lot of spirit and tenacity to go out there and race with only 6 days of practice. I am very proud and excited to work with such a great group of ladies.”

Now that their first race is out of the way the ladies are ready to focus on training hard to make up for lost time.

Up next for the Panthers is the Coast Sprints on December 1st, followed by Chapman’s Annual Family/Friend Row.
